Our mission

Make STEM education as addictive as a mobile game — and accessible to every Malaysian family.

Regardless of income level or geography.

“Jom belajar — pasti boleh!”
Why we exist

Malaysian families deserve a better option

Households spend RM 2–3 billion a year on private tuition. That is not a broken market — it is proof of demand. We are building the smarter, fairer answer.

Every year is assessed now

UPSR and PT3 are gone. In their place: UASA, every single year from Year 4 to Form 3. The pressure never pauses — so support can’t either.

Tuition costs too much

RM 200–800 per child, per month. Fixed schedules, no progress data, no personalisation. Millions of families are priced out.

Study apps get abandoned

Worksheet and video apps feel like more homework. Nothing in the market makes Malaysian students want to practise daily.

The product

A learning app that plays like a game

Built on the behavioural mechanics behind the world’s most habit-forming apps — applied, for the first time, to the Malaysian national curriculum.

The murid-murid.com home screen: Mathematics for Year 5, with streak and star counters

The whole syllabus, as a game map

A Duolingo-style lesson map covering KSSR/KSSM Mathematics & Science, Standard 5 – Form 3.

AI that fixes the exact gap

A wrong answer triggers a personalised follow-up question that diagnoses the misunderstanding.

Streaks, XP, crowns and stars

The habit mechanics that made Duolingo work — applied to the Malaysian curriculum.

A dashboard parents can trust

Real-time progress by subject and topic, plus weekly report summaries. No more “did you study?”

BM-first, fully bilingual

Bahasa Malaysia as the primary language, English throughout. Built for Malaysian classrooms.

Mapped to the exam framework

Every lesson traces to a KSSR/KSSM chapter and topic, aligned to UASA assessment.

Lesson map screen with crowned, completed and locked lessons
The syllabus is a map. Crowns mark mastery.
A question screen with four answer options
One question per screen. Zero distractions.
Correct-answer feedback with XP earned
Instant feedback. XP lands on the spot.
Topic mastered celebration screen with stars earned
Mastery is celebrated — loudly.

A permanently free tier for every registered student. Full curriculum at RM 24.90/month — a fraction of the cost of tuition.

Why it works

Three pillars, one outcome

Curriculum relevance

Every lesson maps to the national exam framework. Effort in the app shows up as marks at school.

Habit by design

Streaks, short loops and rewards keep students coming back on their own. No nagging required.

Parent confidence

A live dashboard turns “did you study?” into progress a parent can actually see.

Who we serve

For parents. For tuition centres.

Soh Hoong Liang

Liang has spent his career inside the Malaysian syllabus — as an education content producer and the author of bilingual KSSM Mathematics workbooks for Form 1 and Form 3. He knows KSSR/KSSM, UASA and SPM from first principles.

murid-murid.com is that experience rebuilt as a product: a curriculum expert’s syllabus map, delivered with the mechanics of the games students already love.

The mascot

Meet Mumu

A young cow in a graduation cap — friendly, wide-eyed, always mid-gesture. Mumu lives everywhere in the app: onboarding, celebrations, and every “try again”.

Mumu waving hello

Shows up every day

Welcomes your child back, keeps the streak alive, and makes the first five minutes easy.

Mumu thinking with a hoof on its chin

Never shames a mistake

Mumu encourages — it never points at a child’s failure. Wrong answers get help, not blame.

Mumu celebrating with both arms in the air

Celebrates loudly

Crowns, stars and confetti when mastery lands. Progress is proud, out-loud news here.

Policy alignment

Building what Malaysia is already mandating

STEM and AI are national priorities

The Malaysia Education Plan (RPM) 2026–2035 names STEM, digital competence and AI literacy as immediate mandates.

New national checkpoints

The Malaysian Learning Matrix brings standardised assessments from 2026 — in exactly the subjects we teach.

Bahasa Malaysia first

National policy puts BM at the centre of instruction. murid-murid.com is BM-first by design, not a translated import.

murid-murid.com is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Ministry of Education Malaysia.
