Deleting Your Account
Version 2026.10 · Last updated 13 October 2026
Before you start
A deletion cannot be undone. Once you confirm it, the account's sign-in is deleted at once and you cannot sign back in, even during the 30 days before its data is erased.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. The Pro plan is not on sale yet. When this feature is available, Pro will be sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play in our apps, and on the web app through RevenueCat Web Billing. Cancel it first, where you bought it, or you will keep being charged:
- Apple: Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.
- Google: Play Store > Payments & subscriptions.
- Web app: Settings > Subscription on the web app.
Delete in the app
| Who you are | Where to go |
|---|---|
| A parent or guardian | Settings > Account > Delete account |
| A student with your own login | Settings > Delete account |
| A parent removing a child profile you manage | Open the child's profile and remove it. This is permanent and immediate. |
Account deletion is not available in a child session (when a parent has opened the app for a child on a device).
If your child has their own login
If you gave a child their own email login, only that child, or our administrators, can delete the child's account. You cannot delete it from your own account. Your child can delete it in Settings > Delete account, or you can contact us at hello@murid-murid.com.
What happens when an account is deleted
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| Straight away | The account's sign-in is deleted. Nobody can sign in to it. |
| 30 days later | The account and its personal data are permanently erased. |
| When it is erased | Learning sessions, challenge results and skip-exam attempts are anonymised, so they no longer point to anyone. We are changing this: today some of these records are kept. |
There is no way to undo a deletion or to sign back in.
What happens to your children when you delete a parent account
| Your child's situation | What happens |
|---|---|
| The child has their own login | Their account is kept, but it is no longer linked to you. |
| The child has no login of their own, and you are their only guardian | The child's profile is deleted with your account, in the same 30-day window. |
| The child has no login of their own, and another parent or guardian is linked to them | The child's profile stays with that guardian. |
Delete without the app
If you cannot use the app, email hello@murid-murid.com from the email address registered on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". Tell us which accounts or child profiles you want deleted.
We will check that the request comes from you, and we will process it within 30 days.
We are changing this: a web form for deletion requests is coming.
What we keep after deletion
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| A minimal consent record: hashed identifiers, the policy version, the time and the method of consent. No names. | Legal proof that a parent gave consent. | 6 years |
| Anonymised learning statistics | To improve our lessons and questions. They cannot identify you or your child. | Not limited, because they are no longer personal data. |
| Payment records | Kept by Apple or Google under their own policies (when Pro is available). | Set by the store |
| Anything the law requires us to keep | To meet our legal duties. | As the law requires |
Some copies expire on their own:
- backups are deleted after 30 days;
- copies of the database taken before a release are deleted after 90 days (we are changing this: this limit is being introduced);
- server logs are deleted after 30 days;
- crash reports are deleted by Google after 90 days.
Our website and waitlist
If you joined our waitlist or filled in a form on one of our advertising pages, that data is kept separately from your app account. Deleting your app account does not delete it. Email hello@murid-murid.com and ask us to delete it too.
