Questions

Frequently asked questions

The questions parents actually ask us, answered plainly.

Is this legit?

Who we are and what we can actually back up.

  • Is this really used in schools, or is that just an ad claim?

Murid Murid is a Math and Science practice platform built specifically for Malaysian students aged 11–15. Our question bank is mapped to the KSSM/KSSR curriculum and built by AI tutors, a team of young qualified teachers, and a contributing teacher community — so what your child practises at home closely tracks what's happening in class.

  • Are the numbers in the ad actually real?

We're an early-stage platform and don't yet have large public usage numbers to point to. Rather than a marketing statistic, we'd rather let your child's own data speak: after the Day 1 diagnostic, you'll see a real starting report card and real progress from there.

  • Is this a Malaysian company?

Yes — Murid Murid is built specifically for Malaysian students, with content designed entirely around the local KSSM/KSSR Math and Science curriculum.

  • If it's this good, why haven't I heard of it before?

We've deliberately focused on Math and Science first — the two subjects that decide whether a child can take up the Science stream in Form 3 — while we're still in our early growth stage. We're building our name through results and word of mouth before expanding into more subjects. The fastest way to judge us for yourself is the 7-day free trial.

Is it right for my child?

What we cover, and who we built it for.

  • Does it cover my child's exact syllabus and school type (SK, SJKC, or SJKT)?

We currently specialise in Math and Science, covering the KSSM/KSSR curriculum for students aged 11–15 (upper primary through Form 3).

  • Only Math and Science — isn't that too narrow?

That's a deliberate choice. Form 3 stream selection is decided almost entirely by Math and Science results, and the government is actively pushing to raise the science-stream intake rate between 2026 and 2035. Rather than spreading ourselves thin across every subject, we chose to go deep on the two subjects that actually decide a child's future track — and will expand from there.

  • Is this just for exam prep, or does it help with everyday schoolwork too?

It's more than exam prep. We start with an AI diagnostic to find your child's real level — even if they're 15 but their foundation is stuck at a 12-year-old level, we specifically fill in every gap between ages 12 and 15, so they can keep up with both daily coursework and exams.

Does it actually work?

How we teach, and how you can check for yourself.

  • Do kids actually improve using this?

We offer a 7-day free trial: Day 1 produces a diagnostic report and starting score, and our goal is a visible change in your child's Math and Science performance within that first week — proven with their own data, not a single glowing testimonial.

  • Is this just another quiz app, or does it actually teach?

Every time your child answers wrong, we provide alternative ways to solve the problem — both written explanations and video walkthroughs — so they genuinely understand it instead of just memorising the answer.

  • How is this different from free YouTube tutorials or past-year papers?

The difference is "anytime, anywhere" plus "built for your child specifically." A YouTube video or a past-year paper is fixed content for everyone. Murid Murid first diagnoses your child's real level, then dynamically serves questions matched to it — so those idle moments waiting for food or on the commute become 10–20 practice questions, with no need for you to manually assemble past-year papers every week.

  • Is there real evidence of grade improvement, not just marketing claims?

Every child gets an AI-diagnosed starting score card on Day 1. Over the 7-day trial, we commit to a targeted improvement in Math and Science — and you can compare your own child's before-and-after report, rather than relying on someone else's case study.

  • Does it adapt to my child, or does every student see the same questions?

It adapts. Before day one, your child answers a short survey about their daily habits and routines, which gives us an early read on their learning style — visual, audio, a mix of both, or needing one-on-one guidance. Combined with the AI diagnostic on real ability — even if a 15-year-old's foundation is only at a 12-year-old level — we specifically close the gap across ages 12 to 15, rather than handing every student the same set of questions.

  • How much daily use does it take to see results?

Just make use of the screen time your child already spends — waiting for food, on the commute — for 10 to 20 questions, building a simple "practice first, then screen time" habit. No need to carve out extra hours.

What does it cost?

The trial, the subscription, and what is included.

  • What does it actually cost? The ad doesn't say.

You get a fully free 7-day trial. After that, subscriptions start from RM29.90/month (discounted from RM49.90/month).

  • Is the "free trial" actually free, or do I need to enter a card first?

The trial itself costs nothing. As with any App Store or Play Store subscription trial, your Apple or Google account needs a payment method on file — that's a standard platform requirement, not something we add on top. Cancel within 7 days and you won't be charged anything.

  • If it's this cheap or free, what's the catch?

No hidden fees at all — past-year papers and every subject we cover are included in your subscription. Our approach is to go deep on Math and Science first and prove the results, rather than fund the business through hidden charges.

  • What's the difference between the free and paid versions?

The 7-day trial gives full access to every feature. After the trial, it becomes a paid subscription starting from RM29.90/month (regular price RM49.90/month).

  • Monthly, yearly, or a one-time payment?

We offer Monthly, Yearly, and Lump-sum payment options, and support Auto-renew, so you can pick whichever suits your family.

  • Will it auto-renew and catch me off guard?

Auto-renew is supported, but we always send a reminder and billing notice ahead of every renewal — you won't be charged without warning.

  • Are past-year papers or extra subjects billed separately?

No. Past-year papers and every subject we offer are included in your subscription, with no hidden add-on charges.

  • Can one subscription cover more than one child?

Yes, one subscription can cover multiple siblings. That said, we recommend giving each child their own account, so we can diagnose their real level and personalise their questions individually — the results are more accurate that way.

Where do the questions come from?

Who writes them, and what is in the bank.

  • Who writes the questions — can I trust them?

Our question bank is built from a combination of AI tutors, a team of young qualified teachers, a contributing teacher community (crowdsourced), and AI-generated content — balancing both quality and volume.

  • Are real past-year exam papers included?

Yes, we include genuine past-year exam papers, currently focused on Math and Science.

  • Do you only cover the popular subjects, leaving the smaller ones out?

We currently focus on Math and Science — the two subjects that determine whether a child can take up the Science stream in Form 4 and 5. Additional subjects will be rolled out over time.

Is it safe, and can I see what they are doing?

Ads, chat, the leaderboard, and your parent report.

  • Is it safe for my child to use unsupervised — any ads or inappropriate content?

There are no ads in the app at all. In-app chat is strictly between your child and our own support/teaching team — there is never any inappropriate content.

  • Do the leaderboard or quiz-battle features expose my child's personal info?

In Quiz Battle and the leaderboard, you can choose whether your child's name is shown publicly or kept hidden — the choice is entirely yours.

  • Can I see my child's actual progress and report card?

Yes. Any day your child practises, we send a score report straight to you. From Day 1, you'll know exactly how many questions they got right in the AI question bank, and whether their level sits in the top, middle, or lower band for their age group.

  • Could my child accidentally trigger an ad or an extra charge?

No — there are no ads in the app at all, and there are no hidden add-on purchases beyond the subscription, so there's no risk of an accidental extra charge.

Support and alternatives

Getting help, and how we compare.

  • If the app has a problem, will support actually respond?

Yes. In-app chat connects directly to our support team, so parents and children can raise any issue and get a response.

  • Why is this better than Pandai, JomStudy, or the free BACFlix network?

Other platforms spread their effort across every subject. We put all of ours into Math and Science — the two subjects that actually decide stream selection and future science-track competitiveness — from AI level diagnosis and gap-filling, to learning-style personalisation, to real-time parent report cards. Everything is built around these two subjects, rather than covering everything at a shallower depth.
