Privacy Guide for Children

Version 2026.10 · Last updated 5 October 2026

Hello!

This page is for you, the student. It tells you what murid-murid remembers about you, and who can see it.

Read it with your parent, or with the grown-up who looks after you. The full rules are in our Privacy Notice. Your grown-up can read that one. This page is a simple guide: if it says something different from the Privacy Notice, the Privacy Notice is the one that counts.

A grown-up said yes for you

You cannot make a murid-murid account on your own. Your parent or guardian made your profile for you. They are a grown-up aged 18 or over.

Before they made your profile, they read what we do with your information, and they said yes. We keep a note of when they said yes.

What the app remembers about you

About you

  • The name you show in the app. It can be a nickname. You do not need to use your full real name.
  • Your birthday. (We are changing the app so that it keeps only the month and the year.)
  • Your school year, like Year 4 or Form 2.
  • Your school, if it was added. This is not needed.
  • The avatar you picked.
  • The language you use in the app.

About your learning

  • The lessons you started and finished.
  • The answers you chose, and if they were right.
  • How long you practised.
  • The skip exams you tried.
  • Your XP, Stars, crowns, streaks, daily goals and energy.

About friends and games

  • Your friend code.
  • Your friends, your friend requests, and the players you blocked.
  • The results of the challenges you played.
  • If you are online now, and when you were last online.

Things you send us

  • When you report a question, we keep what you wrote.

Why do we remember these things? So the app can give you the right lessons, keep your progress safe, and show your grown-up how you are doing.

What other players can see

Your friends can see:

  • your name in the app and your avatar;
  • your XP and your place on the friends leaderboard.

A player you had a challenge with can see the results of that challenge.

Right now, other players can also see if you are online, and when you were last online. We are changing this. Soon, only your friends and the player you are playing against will see it.

Other players cannot see your email, your school or your birthday. (We are planning a school leaderboard. When it comes, students at your school will see your name in the app, your avatar and your XP on it. We will tell your grown-up first.)

You can only add friends with a friend code or a QR code. Only share your code with people you know.

Things the app never asks you for

  • Your home address.
  • Your MyKid or IC number.
  • A photo of you.
  • Where you are right now.

Please never type these things in your name, or in a question report.

Who can see what

WhoWhat they can see
YouYour profile and your progress.
Your parent or guardianYour profile and how you are doing in your lessons.
Your friendsYour name in the app, your avatar, your XP and your place on the friends leaderboard.

The murid-murid teamOnly what they need to help you. Our support team can see a short summary of your learning. Some of our team read question reports.
Companies that show adsNothing. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for ads.

Some companies help us run the app. For example, Google keeps our information safe on its computers in Singapore. They may only use it to help us.

Today, we do not send your name or your answers to any AI (artificial intelligence).

When you use your grown-up's phone or tablet

Your grown-up opens the app for you. When they do, you cannot buy anything, and you cannot delete an account.

If a question looks wrong

You can report the question in the app. Write what looks wrong. Do not write your name, your address or a phone number in the report.

Right now, the people who write our questions can read the reports. We are changing this so that fewer people on our team can see them.

If a player is mean to you

  1. Block them.
  2. Tell your grown-up straight away.
  3. Your grown-up can tell us at hello@murid-murid.com, or on WhatsApp at +60 16-318 6410.

You did nothing wrong by telling. We want to know.

If you want something deleted

Ask your grown-up. They can delete your profile in the app. It is deleted straight away, and it cannot come back.

If you have your own login, you can also delete your account yourself, in Settings > Delete account. Talk to your grown-up first. Your account is switched off at once and wiped after 30 days. It cannot be undone.

You can also ask to see what we remember about you, or to fix something that is wrong. Ask your grown-up to email us at hello@murid-murid.com.

Got a question?

Ask your grown-up, or ask them to email us at hello@murid-murid.com. We are happy to help.
